When live performance is impossible, and latency issues make real-time coordinated playing remotely not an option, how do we make music? What does it mean to be a musician or a collaborator in these circumstances? How can we make music in a way that's satisfying while also engaging with the situation we're in? This project is a result of thinking about these questions.

I made some solo recordings and invited some friends to record themselves to make a duet. That's not what you'll hear here - those are just for me and the person who completed the duet. As I receive tracks back from people, I join together people who've duetted with the same track of mine without me to create new and unexpected collaborations. As the series progresses you'll hear sounds repeated in changing contexts creating new experiences.

Cover image is from an old film I discoivered in a box of things retrieved from my parents' house. Almost certainly taken by me, late 70s/early 80s. Either Skye or the Lake District, I'm not quite sure.

This release is dedicated to the memory of my father.
